Der Valpolicella Classico Superiore aus der Kellerei Zenato ist ein italienischer Rotwein aus der Region Venetien. Das Gebiet ist dasselbe wie das des berühmten Amarone, typisch für die Herstellung von Rotweinen mit hervorragender Struktur und großer aromatischer Fülle.
Die Familie Zenato ist eine der geschichtsträchtigsten und erfahrensten in dem Gebiet, das das südöstliche Ufer des Gardasees umfasst und im Veroneser Valpolicella endet. Es ist kein Zufall, dass das Weingut Zenato für seinen außergewöhnlichen Amarone della Valpolicella und den trendigen Valpolicella Ripasso Ripassa sowie für klassische Gardaseeweine wie den Chiaretto bekannt ist.
Mit diesem Label bietet Zenato einen Wein mit einem trockenen, aber auch weichen Geschmack, dank der Verfeinerung in Eichenfässern für etwa ein Jahr. Pleasant nose of ripe plums, together with hints of fresh cherries, black pepper, aromatic herbs and prunes. Full-to medium-bodied with a good bead of sweet fruit, riding firm, silky tannins. Long, controlled and well-balanced finish. Drink or hold.

A really drinkable wine
I was introduced to this wine several years ago at a Michelin star restaurant since when I have enjoyed it with many types of food, and just by itself!
This ‘poor man’s Amarone’ has a broad, deep taste spectrum but Zenato produce it with a lighter after taste. This combination makes it, for me, one of the most drinkable wines of its type on the market.

A very good Valpolicella and excellent value
Plenty of body and well balanced. A little dry and average acidity with a very subtle syrupy texture. You could almost call it medicinal. Oh now there's a thought. If only you could pour a glass of this every time you feel a cough coming on or when you feel a little low. Won't life be wonderful. Time to pour another glass to see if it works.

Lovely fruity red
Enjoyed this with a nice lasagne, if you have the patience, it gets better the longer it’s open, Red fruits, gets smoother, reminded me of a lovely trip to Italy
